Infiltrator killed in Jammu's Akhnoor

Srinagar: The armed forces said they have killed an infiltrator during an operation in Akhnoor sector of Jammu. The operation started in the morning when infiltrators opened fire at an Army vehicle in Akhnoor sector triggering an exchange of fire, which continued for several hours. "The body of a terrorist, along with weapon, has been recovered...Operations are under progress," officials informed. Swift retaliation by troops ensured foiling of the attempt, ensuring no injuries. "The area has been cordoned off, and a search operation to neutralise the terrorists is ongoing," said the statement. Officials claimed that locals informed that three infiltrators were seen in the area, who initially took shelter in some buildings, and later fled into the forests.
