Indian Army sends strong message to Islamabad, strikes Pakistani posts along LoC
NEW DELHI: The Indian Army has carried out massive fire assaults across the Line of Control, causing significant damage to Pakistan Army posts. The Army asserted that this was done as part of a counter-terrorism strategy, including to prevent infiltration of terrorists, supported by the Pakistan Army.

The Indian Army today said that it caused major damages to some Pakistan Army posts across the LOC in the Naushera sector. "This assault is part of the strategy to counter terrorism. The Indian Army conducted punitive fire assaults across the Line of Control," said Army spokesperson Major General Ashok Narula.

Army also released a video substantiating the claims. The video is of May 9 and the weapons used on Pakistan Army posts are rocket launchers, anti tank guided missile, 106mm recoiless gun and automatic grenade launchers.

Maj Gen Narula explained that the Pakistan Army has been providing support to infiltrators by engaging Indian troops by firing from pillboxes and posts across the LOC. "They (Pakistan Army) are also becoming more hostile by targeting Indian villages in proximity to the LOC," he said.

Infiltration is likely to increase with the melting of snow and the opening of passes across the LOC. The officer said that to curb infiltration, the Army proactively dominates the LOC. While doing so, terrorists who are infiltrating are targeted. Two days ago in Naugam, four terrorists were killed.

"This calls for proactive counter-terrorist operations, we want peace in Jammu and Kashmir. For this purpose it is essential that infiltration along the LOC should be stopped, so that the number of terrorists are brought down in J&K. This will also ensure that youths in J&K are not influenced by terrorists," he said.
