An Indian Air Force transport aircraft crash landed in West Bengal's Bagdogra on Friday, officials told PTI. The crew of the AN-32 aircraft are safe, they said.

The IAF added that the aircraft is being recovered from the site and confirmed that its crew is safe.

"An accident involving an AN-32 transport aircraft at Bagdogra airport has come to light today. The aircraft is being recovered from the site. The crew of the aircraft is safe," IAF said in a statement.


Earlier in the day, one of Indian Air Force's (IAF) Jaguar fighter aircraft crashed in Panchkula, Haryana, which had taken off from the Ambala airbase on a training sortie.

As per officials, the pilot had ejected from the aircraft and a Court of Inquiry has been ordered into the accident. The IAF said that the pilot successfully maneuvered the aircraft away from inhabited areas before ejecting safely.
