The agreements were inked at Kartavya Bhawan-2 in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and senior officials.
Tunguska Air Defence Missile System (Rs 445 crore)
Procured from JSC Rosoboronexport, Russia, the missile system will strengthen India’s multi-layered air defence against aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles, while reinforcing Indo-Russian defence collaboration.
P8I Long-Range Maritime Reconnaissance Aircraft Inspection (Rs 413 crore)
The depot-level maintenance contract, executed with Boeing India Defense Pvt Ltd under 100% indigenous content, will ensure in-country upkeep of the Indian Navy’s P8I fleet, aligning with the government’s Make-in-India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
The move underscores India’s ongoing focus on modernising its defence infrastructure while promoting domestic manufacturing capabilities.
