Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi has made a case for India to lead global war on terror and play an active role in conflict resolution, saying that the country's position will remain pivotal in the emerging world due to its geography, demography, democracy and prosperity.

Speaking at the General Bipin Rawat Memorial Lecture, the Army Chief said that China has been challenging the rules-based system and taking a lead in disruptive activities.
