Multiple explosions were reported at several military installations in Pakistan early Saturday morning. A Reuters witness confirmed blasts at three separate military bases. The Pakistan Army has claimed that India launched missiles targeting key air bases, while India has not issued any official statement on the matter.

Pakistan Army blames India: What we know so far

  • Rawalpindi Nur Khan, Murid Base Attacked: Pakistan Army spokesperson Lt Gen. Ahmad Sharif addressed the nation on television, stating that missiles struck the Nur Khan base in Rawalpindi, the Murid base in Chakwal, and the Rafiqui base in Jhang district of Punjab province.
  • Pakistan claims that Brahmos missiles were used for the attack
  • He said, "Most of the missiles have been intercepted," and added, “All Pakistan Air Force assets are safe.”
  • Sharif also claimed that some Indian missiles landed in India’s eastern Punjab and in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan has “evidence to prove it.”

Complete Blackouts in Indian border areas

  • A complete power blackout was enforced in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir.
  • In Punjab’s Jalandhar district, a similar temporary blackout was ordered after drone sightings.

Loud Explosions Heard in J&K

  • Loud explosions were also heard in Rajouri.

Indian briefing soon

  • As of now, there has been no official response from the Indian government regarding the allegations made by Pakistan.
  • The briefing, earlier scheduled at 5:45 am, has been now dealyed to 10 am.
