India has proof that shows Pakistani Army officials crossed LoC to kill Indian soldiers: MEA

NEW DELHI: An act of provocation, that's exactly how India summed up its outrage over the killing of two jawans along the Line of Control in Kashmir.

"The Indian foreign secretary conveyed deep anger against the barbaric incident to the Pakistan High Commissioner to India (Abdul Basit). The government thinks it is against all civilised norms, and Government considers it as a strong act of provocation," Gopal Bagley, MEA spokesperson said, demanding immediate action against Pakistan army officials.

Bagley said India had enough proof to say Pakistan had orchestrated the attack, which was preceded by cover fire from their posts. Slamming Pakistan's demand for 'actionable evidence', India said it had sufficient evidence to prove the Pakistani officials had crossed the LoC and committed this inhuman act.


"The blood samples and blood trails from the attack site indicates that Pakistan soldiers entered the Indian side, committed the barbaric act and returned to PoK," he said.

India had summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit to register strong protest against the mutilation of two jawans by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Monday.

India says that a Border Action Team (BAT) of Pakistan was behind the incident close to the Line of Control.

Pakistan High Commissioner, however, denied the happening of such incident and killing of Indian soldiers by Pakistan forces.
