India can hit enemy within and across border, says Rajnath Singh
Addressing an election rally in Kathua, which falls under Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, he also said that India's stature has grown at the international level under the BJP government.

"India was seen as a soft state till now. We have never aggressed and never occupied an inch of land of any country. However, after the Uri and Pulwama incidents people understood what we stand for. We gave a clear message that we won't hurt anyone, but if somebody tries to tease us, we won't give it a pass," said Singh. "We have the power to hit the enemy within our borders and across the border as well. Our standing and power have grown."
The BJP has once again fielded Jitendra Singh from Udhampur constituency and he is facing tough competition from Choudhary Lal Singh, who recently rejoined the Congress and was immediately named the party candidate. Kathua goes to the polls in the first phase of the general election on April 19.
The defence minister reminded the Congress and regional parties such as the National Conference and People's Democratic Party of their "apprehensions and concoctions" expressed before the Centre abrogated the Article 370 of the Constitution in August 2019. "I remember they would say rivers of blood will flow here," said Singh.
