India and China held 20th round of corps commander-level meeting at Chushul-Moldo border in Ladakh on Monday and Tuesday. Officials said views were exchanged in a ‘frank, open and constructive manner’ for resolution of pending border issues.

The meeting was held on the Indian side, with the two sides taking forward discussions under the same forum in August.

“They agreed to maintain the momentum of dialogue and negotiations through military and diplomatic mechanisms. They also committed to maintain peace and tranquillity on the ground in the border areas in the interim,” an official statement said.

As reported, Beijing had proposed high-level military talks to follow on deep discussions on the Depsang and Demchock friction points that took place late August.
