The armed forces on Thursday recovered improvised explosive devices, wireless communication device and other ammunition during an operation in Rajouri district of Jammu.

The officials said that during a cordon and search operation in Hatatpura village of Manjakote area of Rajouri, the CRPF personnel recovered ammunition and incriminating material from the hideout. The police and CRPF officials claim to have recovered four IEDs concealed in tiffin boxes, 23 live bullets of AK series rifle, wireless sets and a tape recorder.

Earlier, the J&K police had informed that foreign intruders were active in the Rajouri-Poonch range which remains a major challenge for the security grid this year. They had also informed that an all-time low number of local militants (31) are active across J&K, including 27 in Kashmir valley and four in Kishtwar area of Jammu division.
