Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari revealed on Tuesday that the Indian Air Force (IAF) is considering the induction of military platforms, equipment, and hardware valued between Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 lakh crore over the next seven to eight years. During a press conference ahead of Air Force Day, the Chief of Air Staff also emphasised that the IAF is actively monitoring the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), particularly in eastern Ladakh.

Chaudhari mentioned that the IAF is moving forward with its plan to acquire an additional 97 Light Combat Aircraft Tejas Mark 1A.

Responding to a question, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari mentioned that the IAF has already received three units of the S-400 missile systems from Russia, and they anticipate receiving the remaining two by the following year.

He emphasised that the uncertain geopolitical environment underscores the necessity for a strong military, affirming that the IAF will continue to play a pivotal role in projecting India's military capabilities in the region.

Chaudhari also noted that the IAF has spared no effort to ensure the successful implementation of the Agnipath scheme.

Regarding the theaterisation plan, he stated that it is a work in progress.
