Guwahati|Kolkata: Several people, including an IAF Corporal from Arunachal Pradesh and three individuals from West Bengal, were killed in a terror attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran valley. Corporal Tage Hailyang, stationed at Srinagar, was killed while visiting Pahalgam with his wife. Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu expressed his condolences, and the body is expected to be returned to the state for last rites.

From West Bengal, Bitan Adhikari, Samir Guha, and Manish Ranjan were among the victims. Adhikari, a software professional from Florida, was on holiday with his wife and child. His wife Sohini recounted the horrifying experience. Guha and Ranjan, central government employees, were also targeted. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has assured the families of full support, with arrangements being made to return the victims' bodies to Kolkata.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar and state minister Firhad Hakim visited the families of the victims, condemning the brutal attack. The West Bengal government is working closely with the administration to assist the grieving families.
