Heavy fire on LoC, army soldier martyred

An army soldier died after a patrol party on the Line of Control came under heavy fire in the Naoshera Sector.

The identity of the attackers has not been ascertained yet but Indian troops retaliated to the fire.

'In the ensuing fire fight one soldier was injured and later attained martyrdom while being evacuated to Military Hospital. Search operations were still in progress till last reports came in", an Army spokesperson said.

In the past, patrol parties on the LoC have come under attack from militants attempting to cross over as well as Pakistani special forces raiders.
