HAL's 'Maharatna' tag gets Finance Minister Sitharaman's nod

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday approved the upgradation of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to 14th Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE).

The proposal has earlier been recommended by Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) headed by Finance Secretary and Apex Committee headed by Cabinet Secretary.

HAL is is a Department of Defence Production (DoDP) CPSE with an annual turn over of Rs. 28162 crore and net profit of Rs. 7595 crore for FY 2023-24.
