Government sounds high alert in North-Eastern states; NSCN (K) might plan a 'revenge strike'
NEW DELHI: All North-Eastern states have been put on high alert after an intelligence intercept has been made that the NSCN (K) is planning a "revenge strike" and some insurgents have slipped into the Indian Territory from Myanmar.

"The intercept suggests some 15-20 insurgents may have slipped into India. They are desperate for a revenge strike and we are on guard," a top government official said. This was discussed threadbare at a meeting chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday and attended by the Defence Minister, National Security Advisor and the Army Chief.

"The insurgents can target any national asset or civilians. A blast in the border town of Moreh yesterday is linked to such revenge attack plans," the top government official said.

The meeting also dwelled on the need for more strikes on insurgent camps and the strategy for the same.
