Srinagar: Defence minister Rajnath Singh has condemned the Doda attack in which five armed forces personnel were killed, saying that forces remain committed to eliminate terrorism and restore peace and order in the region.

Singh also spoke to Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi about the ground situation and the ongoing counter terrorist operation in Doda. "Deeply saddened by the loss of our brave and courageous Indian Army soldiers in a counter terrorist operation in Urrar Baggi, Doda. My heart goes out to the bereaved families," Singh posted on X.

"The counter terrorist operations are underway, and our soldiers remain committed to eliminate the scourge of terrorism and restore peace and order in the region," he wrote in the post.


Former J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti said: "In the last 32 months almost 50 soldiers have lost their lives (in Jammu) but nobody is being held accountable."

NC leader Nasir Wani said Jammu province was militancy free once upon a time but things have changed for the worse.
