Five army jawans injured in a militant ambush in Manipur

Army troopers were injured in an ambush led by the umbrella organisation of militant outfits of the Northeast India, United Liberation Front of Western South East Asia, ​in Manipur’s Chandel district.

GUWAHATI: Five army troopers were injured in an ambush by militants in Manipur’s Chandel district on Saturday.

The combined team of Para and 21 Assam Rifles personnel were attacked with improvised explosives by the umbrella organisation of North-eastern militants, United Liberation Front of Western South East Asia (UNLFW).

Last week the outfit had carried out strike in Pengree city of Assam, in which three jawans were killed and four others were injured.
