Army officials informed Pakistani troops continued "their ceasefire violations" along LoC amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack.
"During the night of 28-29 April 2025, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the Line of Control in areas opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts, as well as the Akhnoor sector. Indian Army responded in a measured and effective manner to the provocation," a defence spokesperson said.
The frequent exchange of fire has worried the border residents, some of whom have started cleaning underground bunkers that were unused for several years now.
