A major highlight of the day remains Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's announcement of sealing the India-Pakistan border by using technological solutions by December, 2018. 1) Amid the deteriorating relations between India and Pakistan following the Uri cross border terror attack and rising infiltration bids, India has decided to "seal" the India-Pakistan border by December, 2018.

2) The US today said it does not support declaring Pakistan a 'terrorist state'.

3) The NIA has picked up 67 items of evidence from the Uri attack site for specific forensic analysis to establish Pakistan’s direct connect with the incident.

4) The NIA today registered a case to probe the conspiracy behind the terrorist attack on an army installation in Handwara.

5) India and Russia will likely sign a cyber-security pact during Russian President Vladimir Putin's trip to Goa next week, cementing joint efforts to curb terror-related activities.
