Meanwhile, militants stormed a government building in Pampore today, causing a firefight between them and the security forces. This is second attack on the building. And the fourth attack in J&K within a month.
An aftermath of the Indo-Pak tensions, is the Centre now asking arms suppliers to be prepared to scale up arms production.
1) China today said it is "ready" for talks with India on its entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group, but defended extending a hold on India's bid for a UN ban on JeM chief Masood Azhar, saying Beijing is opposed to anyone making "political gains in the name of counter-terrorism".
2) A soldier was injured in an exchange of fire between security forces and militants holed up inside the Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) in Pampore, Kashmir. This is second attack on the building this year.
4) After the Indian Army’s surgical strikes in POK, India conveyed to Pakistan that the Line of Control (LoC) will not be sacrosanct for India if Pakistan continues to export terrorists.
5) The South Korean Defence Ministry said on Monday its military would pre-emptively strike North Korea in case a nuclear attack by Pyongyang was imminent.
6) The government’s strategic aim behind the strikes across the LoC was not to humiliate or embarrass the Pakistan Army, but to get it to change course from using terrorism as a low risk instrument of state policy.
