Encounter between security forces and militants in Uri in North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out today between militants and security forces near the Line of Control in Uri area of North Kashmir's Baramulla district.

The exchange of fire started at around 7 AM after security forces launched a search operation in Qazimar area following information about presence of militants there, an army officer said.

There was no immediate report of any casualties, he said.
