Encounter between militants, security forces in J&K's Budgam

SRINAGAR: An encounter broke out today between militants and security forces in Chadoora area of central Kashmir's Budgam district, police said here.

The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Durbagh locality in Chadoora area following information about the presence of militants, a police official said.

"The search operation turned into a gunbattle after militants opened fire on security forces," the official said, adding that the exchange of firing was going on till last reports came in.

No casualties have been reported so far, he added.
