RAMESWARAM: Satish Soni, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command, today inspected the coastal areas off Rameswaram.

Soni arrived here by helicopter from the Indian Naval Air Station at Uchipulli, about-35 km away, after setting off earlier from Visakhapatnam.

He also discussed various matters pertaining to maritime security with Coast Guard officials, naval sources said.

He later went to the Ramanathaswamy temple and paid obeisances there before leaving for Visakhapatnam, they added.
