General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command Lt Gen RC Tiwari stressed on the Indo- Bangladesh friendship, the atrocities committed by Pakistani Army on Bengalis in East Pakistan and the courage, fortitude and bravery of Indian Armed Forces and Mukti Jodhas that led to the defeat of the Pakistani tyrants and the surrender of 93000 Pakistani troops, leading to the creation of an independent Bangladesh.
The event was graced by Gen (Dr) VK Singh (Retd), Governor of Mizoram, and state Minister of Youth Services and Sports Aroop Biswas as the Chief Guests.
The celebrations included a spectacular range of military displays, led by Fly Past of Army Combat Helicopters, tent pegging performances by Army riders and demonstration of combat manoeuvres by Indian Army Aviators, highlighting operational precision & battlefield agilty, a mesmerizing display by microlight aircrafts and the advances in technology demonstrated by Swarm Drones & Robot Mules, Eastern Command said in a statement.
