DRDO cracks whip on scientist Prabhu Dandriyal for writing to PM Narendra Modi
NEW DELHI: DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) has warned a whistleblower who was also one of its former scientists on possible action against his pension for writing letters to PM Narendra Modi repeatedly pointing out corruption and wrongdoing within the organisation.

Prominent whistleblower Prabhu Dandriyal, whose complaints and feedback has resulted in several inquiries and action within the organisation in the past decade, has been given a stern warning for posting 'frivolous and malicious allegations' against the organisation on the PM’s public portal.

Quoting four of his complaints to Modi in which he raised issues of corruption and nepotism in DRDO, the letter by the organisation’s headquarters warns that his pension could be in jeopardy due to the action.

Dandriyal told ET that he was surprised by the DRDO’s reaction, given that he approached the PMO in good faith to expose corruption. He has now written to Modi, donating his pension to the PM’s relief fund in protest of the DRDO letter. "I donate my pension to PM’s Relief Fund and assure that I will continue my fight against these corrupt officials and corruption," he has written.
