Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar condemns LoC killings

NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today condemned the "cowardly and brutal" killings of three Indian soldiers, body of one of whom was mutilated, in Pakistani action in the Line of Control in Machhal sector of Kashmir.

"Condemn the cowardly & brutal killing of our soldiers & mutilation of one of them. Salute these brave martyrs for their supreme sacrifice," Parrikar said on Twitter.
Earlier in the day, sources said, Vice Chief of Army Lt Gen Bipin Rawat briefed the Minister in detail on the killings in Pakistani action on the Line of Control in Machhal sector of Kashmir.


This is the second such incident of mutilation of the body of an Indian soldier on the LoC since October 29.

"Three soldiers killed in action on LC (Line of Control) in Machhal. Body of one soldier mutilated," the Army said.

It said the "retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act".
