Defence avionics player Samtel secures Rs 75 crore funding from True North

Defence sector player Samtel Avionics has announced that it has secured a Rs 75 crore growth funding from True North Private Credit, which will help it in expansion efforts and diversifying its product line on offer to the armed forces.

Samtel, which is involved in several ongoing defence projects, says that the investment includes a Rs 140 crore green shoe option, which can enable additional capital infusion in the future as well.

“The funding will fuel the company’s growth and expansion in line with its mission to deliver diversified solutions across critical sectors like defence, aerospace, railways, satellites, and unmanned systems,” the company stated.


The company is looking at using the investment to also enter emerging sectors like space and unmanned systems, with several projects expected to come up for bidding in the near future.

“This support would further strengthen our ability to scale rapidly, deepen our R&D efforts, and significantly contribute towards India’s self-reliance and technological leadership,” Puneet Kaura, Managing Director & CEO, Samtel Avionics said.

The capital will be deployed to accelerate research and development, expand manufacturing capacity, and drive adoption of advanced indigenous technologies for mission-critical applications, company officials said.
