Defence Acquisition Council clears 38 additional radar stations at the cost of Rs 800 crore
The sanctioned cost of the project is Rs 8,00 crore and would include four mobile surveillance systems.

The sanctioned cost of the project is Rs 8,00 crore and would include four mobile surveillance systems. The Acceptance of Necessity is as follows:
1. Intermediate level engine repair facility of the MiG 29. It is shore based facility, at naval aircraft yard, Goa.
2. Continuation of Coastal Surveillance System, IInd Phase. These are static sensor chain for gap-less electronic surveillance. This will be under the ‘Buy Indian' category and BEL is proposed to be the lead integrator. Its cost will be Rs 800 crore. 38 additional Radar Stations and 4 mobile surveillance stations will come under this project. It will be integrated with the Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) sites in Gulf of Kutch and Khambatt. There are 46 such stations as of now and these were also made by BEL.
