Dassault to set up training hub in Assam, to invest Rs 240 crore: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Dassault Systèmes, the technology arm of Paris-based Dassault Group will set up an aerospace and defence automotive electric vehicle training hub in Assam. The project will come up with an investment of 240 Crore.

Sarma while talking to media persons in Guwahati on Friday said, “The Assam cabinet meeting has cleared the project whereby a company of Dassault which looks after Rafeal aircraft, 3D printing and works on new generation technology will set up aerospace and defence automotive electric vehicle training hub in Assam.”

He added that through this the youths in Assam will be attracted to work in aviation industry, defence, aerospace, automotive electric vehicle engineering. The project will be Rs 240 Crore where the company will invest close to Rs 200 Crore and the State government will invest Rs 40 Crore.


He added that earlier the state government has done similar projects with Tata’s and in the polytechnic of the state this project is going on. “A Centre of excellence will be established in Guwahati Engineering college; this will be the hub. From here around 50 colleges in Assam will be trained through the spoke model.”

He added, “The company works in AI, robotics, defence, digital platforms and is a leading technology organisation in the world.”
