CISF mobile app for jawans, officers gets 22,000 downloads

NEW DELHI: A new mobile application (app) developed in-house by CISF for its troops to tell them their service and pay-related queries has registered over 22,000 downloads in less than a month's time of its launching.

The Android-based app named 'm-Power' allows jawans and officers of the paramilitary force to check their pay-related queries and register grievances while being on the move.

The facility is an extended technology platform of the existing computer system interface for these men and women who guard some of the most vital installations in the country's civil aviation, aerospace and nuclear power domain.

"Over 22,000 individuals of the force have downloaded the app within a week after it was launched in early November. The numbers are growing and we expect more and more jawans to get the download done on their smartphones," a senior official said.

The app, unveiled by CISF Director General Surender Singh, has been developed by the technical wing of the paramilitary and its services are expected to be widened.

The 1.47-lakh personnel strong Central Industrial Security Force is deployed to secure country's 59 civil airports, Delhi Metro and historical monuments like Taj Mahal and Red Fort.
