Bastar, Chhattisgarh: 22 out of 31 Naxals killed in Abujhmad encounter have been identified
Police have reported that 30 naxals have been killed in an encounter in the Maad area on the Narayanpur-Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh. A significant number of automatic weapons have been recovered from the site.

The encounter is currently ongoing and a search operation is underway. Authorities are yet to provide further details. The situation is being closely monitored as additional information comes in.

The incident took place around 1 pm on Friday in the forest between Thulthuli and Nendur villages, located on the Narayanpur-Dantewada inter-district border, according to a senior police official.


Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj P provided details about the encounter over the phone, saying, "Personnel belonging to District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) were involved in the operation."

The exchange of gunfire was ongoing in the area at the time of the report, according to the IG. This year, security forces have killed 171 Maoists in various encounters in the Bastar region, which includes seven districts like Dantewada and Narayanpur.
