The decision was finalized during a high-level review meeting chaired at the Nabanna, the state secretariat,on Thursday. The meeting was attended by the officials from Union Home Ministry, the State Home Secretary, top brass of the BSF, and District Magistrates (DMs) of all bordering districts, sources informed.
The BSF wil be drafting the comprehensive 'master plan' after a ground-level assessment of the border security loopholes. Once finalized, the blueprint will be circulated to the administration of every border district, people in the know told ET.
In the past, intelligence sharing from state agencies had been inadequate for a long time.
The main focus of the new strategy revolves around a multi-layered surveillance mechanism. Vigil across remote border terrains will be instantly enhanced.
Border district police and administrative heads have been directed to immediately expedite the security infrastructure, sources said.
