BSF ADG reviews Bengal border security amid Bangladesh tensions

During his visit, Aggarwal gave a clear message that border management and operational preparedness will be further reinforced and the force is continuously working towards it. He emphasized that all necessary measures will be taken to thwart any attempts of smuggling and infiltration by enhancing the effectiveness of border fencing and patrolling systems, people in the know said.
Aggarwal stated that border security remains the top priority and any form of negligence in this area will not be tolerated.
Aggarwal, who took charge a month back, was accompanied by Inspector General of South Bengal Frontier Headquarters-Kolkata Anish Prasad, Deputy Inspector General of Sector Headquarters Berhampur Anil Kumar Sinha, Deputy Inspector General of Sector Headquarters Malda Mitrabhanu Mahapatra, among others .
Aggarwal's visit is significant in the backdrop of recent communal violence in Murshidabad and Malda, where BSF took a major role to curb the violence. There are large areas of unfenced borders in Malda, Murshidabad and riverine borders in Nadia districts with Bangladesh.
Aggarwal inspected the Shikarpur Border Outpost under the 11 Battalion and conducted a review meeting on border management, operational preparedness, and patrolling arrangements. He also inspected the Madhubana and Jalangi border outposts in Murshidabad and reviewed the domination line.
On June11, Aggarwal inaugurated the newly constructed Kakmarichar Border Outpost of the 73 Battalion, Neemtita Border Outpost of the 71 Battalion, and reviewed the ground situation. He was accompanied by Aneesh Prasad and Mahapatra.
the ADG also conducted boat patrolling and inspected the security arrangements in the Neemtita, Shivpur Ghat, and Mandir Ghat areas. He then visited Sabdalpur, an unfenced area under the 119 Battalion, where he reviewed the surveillance and domination plan, people in the know said.
"The ADG also conducted a thorough inspection of the night patrolling and surveillance systems. Additionally, he visited the Churiyantpur Border Outpost to evaluate the recently repaired IBBF structures along the Indo-Bangladesh border," BSF said in a statement.
