'Blood for blood': A billboard in Iran has a chilling warning for Trump and his family

A giant state-backed billboard depicting US President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and the former's five children above coffins draped in the American flag has been unveiled in central Tehran, as Iran's increasingly confrontational messaging against Washington escalates amidst the conflict between the two countries.

Installed in Tehran's Palestine Square, the mural reportedly features Trump, Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump and Barron Trump above flag-covered coffins set against the backdrop of the White House, with the slogan "Blood for Blood" prominently displayed, The Telegraph reported.

The display is the latest in a series of anti-US murals that have appeared across the Iranian capital as tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to escalate. According to The Telegraph, the slogan is presented as a call for revenge following the US-Israeli strikes that killed Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several members of his family.

The new installation comes just days after another massive billboard in Tehran's Enghelab Square depicted Trump lying inside an open black coffin beneath the words "We Kill Trump" in both Persian and English, according to The Telegraph. The mural portrayed the US president with his eyes and mouth closed, dishevelled hair and hands resting on a red tie.

The coffin also carried the inscription, "In memory of Minab's children," a reference to the southern Iranian city where an elementary school was struck on February 28.


Palestine Square has long served as a prominent site for state-backed anti-US and anti-Israel messaging, with supporters of Iran's government frequently gathering there carrying Palestinian and Hezbollah flags.

The Telegraph reported that Tehran's largest murals are designed by the Owj Arts and Media Organisation, which is linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and have regularly been used to oppose negotiations with the US while promoting the Islamic Republic's regional, nuclear and missile policies.

The newspaper also reported that recent displays have included a mural showing Trump's face inside a rifle's crosshairs and another bearing the message, "Who's next?", beneath the name of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

Tehran's retaliation rhetoric intensifies

The billboard comes as military tensions between the two countries continue to deepen.

Earlier this week, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces carried out fresh strikes on Iranian command centres, air defence systems, missile and drone capabilities, and coastal surveillance facilities, including targets near Bandar Abbas and on Greater Tunb Island.

Iranian officials have repeatedly vowed retaliation following Khamenei's killing. According to The Telegraph, his son and successor, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, said those responsible would not die "peacefully in their beds".

The latest display also follows the announcement by the Iran-backed Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella militia group, of a $10 million reward for anyone who kills Trump, describing it as retaliation for the 2020 US drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Trump has previously warned that any Iranian attempt to assassinate him would be be met with a "severe and destructive" response from the United States.
