Pune-based Bharat Forge has signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to set up India’s first private sector Marine Gas Turbine (MGT) repair, overhaul and development facility in Visakhapatnam.
To construct the project complex, 80 acres of land in the Andhra Pradesh Manufacturing Corridor will be utilised by Bharat Forge through its aerospace division.
The project MoU, signed in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the Aerospace and Defence Investment Conclave in Puttaparthy, marks a major milestone in India’s strive for naval self-reliance.
