BEL signs MoU with RRP Group to develop semiconductors, unmanned and EO systems

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RRP Electronics and RRP Defense to jointly explore business opportunities across semiconductors, electro-optics and unmanned systems.

The partnership brings together BEL’s experience in advanced defence electronics and mission-critical systems with RRP Electronics’ semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and RRP Defense’s expertise in electro-optical (EO) systems and UAV platforms, the company said in a statement.


The companies aim to jointly identify, design and develop technologies for defence and strategic applications, including high-precision EO systems such as surveillance systems and weapon sights, semiconductor devices and next-generation unmanned solutions.

The collaboration is expected to support India’s indigenisation push and strengthen domestic defence capabilities, while also opening up export opportunities in line with the defence ministry’s policies.

“This MoU marks a significant step in our journey towards strengthening the Indian defence ecosystem. By combining BEL’s expertise in defence electronics with RRP’s capabilities in semiconductor manufacturing, electro-optics and UAV platforms, we are confident of delivering cutting-edge, indigenous solutions,” said Manoj Jain, chairman and managing director of BEL.

Rajendra Chodankar, founder and chairman of RRP Group, said the partnership would help accelerate efforts to build India’s defence technological base and advance the ecosystem through reliable and purpose-driven innovation.

The MoU was exchanged between Niti Pandit, GM (Strategic Planning) at BEL, and Rajendra Chodankar in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
