Battle for Ukraine's Soledar ongoing: Russian army

Moscow: Jan 11, 2023 -The fierce battle for Ukraine's Soledar is ongoing, the Russian army said Wednesday, countering an earlier claim by Moscow's private military group Wagner that its fighters took control of the city.

"Assault squads are fighting in the city," the Russian army said in a statement. It added that its forces "blocked Soledar from the northern and southern areas of the city" and that its air force was striking "enemy strongholds."
