The BSF assured the BGB that the work had been pre-approved by both countries. The work resumed shortly after the interruption, following standard border management protocols.
Political response highlights nationalist sentiment
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari praised the villagers and the BSF for their reaction, emphasizing the role of public support in maintaining national security. Sharing the viral video on social media platform X, Adhikari said, “The local Indian citizens along with the BSF personnel scared them off and made them realize that no nuisance will be tolerated when it comes to national security. Chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai, Vande Mataram, and Jai Shree Ram were reverberating.”
