Assam security probe: 11 jihadi operatives raised funds in Barpeta and Chirang

Guwahati: Security forces have stated that during interrogation, 11 jehadi operatives furthering the cause of IMK had started fund collection in different parts of Barpeta, Chirang and other lower Assam Districts.

Recently 11 Jehadi operatives were arrested by Assam, 10 from Assam and one from Tripura

Assam police stated in the mosques where indoctrination to the cause was being done, there were references for waging armed struggle against the Indian state. The aim of the accused was to foment


violent armed activities in the name of Jihad/Islam and spread communal/violent disturbances in Assam and Tripura. For espousing the cause, the Amir - Nachimuddin of Barpeta along with the arrested

individuals of Tripura had visited Bangladesh sometime in April/May 2024 for meetings and training sessions.

The ‘Imam Mahmuder Kafila (IMK) is a Bangladesh-based offshoot of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) which is banned in India.

Police in a statement on Saturday said that in the year 2024 in the last part, Nasim Uddin @ Tamim of Nichuka, Barpeta Road came across one 'YouTube' preaching about Muzaddid. As per Islamic belief Muzaddid (a religious saint) comes after

every 100 years for safeguarding the Muslims. Accordingly, he made comment from where he belongs. He replied that he was from Bangladesh and his name was Khalid. In the Youtube it was shown that

the Muzaddid in the name of Imam Mahmud has already arrived on the earth in order to preach the Islamic belief. In Youtube one user ID was reflected and as directed he clicked on the ID. As soon as he cliched

In the ID, one Telegram account in the name of Khalid appeared.

The police added that through the Khalid Telegram Account various religious books and Ilham (message of Allah) were sent through in PDF format. Khalid on instruction of Umar, Sujan Bin Sultan and Shamim Barah of Bangladesh and Mir Rahman of West Bengal and Jagir Miah of Agartala preached Hadish wherein it was stated that arrival of Muzaddid is reflected in the Hadish.

Then Khalid created a group named Purva Akash in Telegram and Khalid was the group admin. Lateron Khalid exited from the group and made Nasim Uddin @ Tamim the group admin. Thereafter, he added, Md.

Siddik Ali , Rasidul Alom, Md. Dildar Rajjak, Md. Zakir Hussain, Junab Ali, Mizanur Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman , Yakub Ali, Motibul Islam, Faruk Abdullah, Afrahin Hussain, Sultan Mahmud , Mohidul Islam, Chanbar Ali, Sahrukh Hussain, Mahibul Khan, Rakibul Islam, Manirul Islam, Abdur Rafique

and many others in the Purva Akash wherein Nasim Uddin on being directed by Umar, Sujon Bin Sultan, Khalid and others of Bangladesh,

Mir Rahman of West Bengal and Jagir Miah of Tripura passed the message of Ghazwatul E Hind.

Khalid gave names of books for reference to Hadish namely Biharul Anowar, Kashfool Kufa, Tarrik-e Baghdad, Tarik e. Dimask and Others. like Al-Warialatul-Fitan wherein it was reflected

the arrival of Imam Mahmud as Muzaddid in order to wage war against Hindustan by all Muslims against the atrocities against them. When the

scrutiny was done in respect of the above reference books, no such records of books were available. Only then it was learnt that the Hadish as preached by Umar, Khalid and Sujan Bin Sultan is fake and one

radical group known as Imam Mahamuder Kafila (IMK), a Bangladesh-based offshoot of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), an extremist Outfit founded in 2018 by Jewel Mahmud @ Imam Mahmud Habibullah @ Sohail, an Ex-JMB Cadre who claims to be the Amir of IMK

and propagates the ideology of "Ghazwatul Hind", Muslim rule over India by killing all Hindus, has been operating for radical activities.
