Assam: Defence ministry to acquire 333.662 acres for Artillery Brigade location plan
The Ministry of Defence will acquire land in Assam's Udalguri district to establish units of an Artillery Brigade. The expansion is linked to the 21 Mountain Division stationed in the region.

The ministry of Rural Development stated, “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (v) of clause (e) of section 3 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (30 of 2013), the Central Government hereby notifies that the Ministry of Defence shall, subject to the control of the President and until further orders, exercise the powers and discharge the functions of the 'appropriate Government' under the said Act for acquisition of private land measuring 333.662 acres at Hattigor, Udalguri District, Assam for establishment of Key Location Plan to locate units of Artillery Brigade at Military Station, Hattigor, Assam.”

Sources in the army said, “It is the expansion of 21 Mountain Division stationed in the area.”
