General Rawat said a Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) took place "two days back" on the issue.
Army chief General Bipin Rawat on Monday said the ‘Tuting incident’, where Chinese road construction party entered Indian territory on December 28, has been resolved. He added the border personnel meeting (BPM) between the two armies settled the issue last week.

General Rawat, on the sidelines of the Army Technology Seminar (ARTECH-2018) held here, said: “The border personnel meeting was held two days ago (January 6).”

On December 28, an Indian Army patrol observed few Chinese civilians carrying out track alignment activity in Tuting, Upper Siang District. The patrol confronted the construction party, who were sent back to the Chinese side of the LAC.

Their equipment remained at the Indian side of the LAC.

“Two-three days later, the PLA came and we stopped them at the perceived LAC. We decided to resolve the December 28 incident at the BPM,” said a senior government official, adding a day before the meeting the Chinese took back their equipment.

What has come to light is that “rough” track that was being made by the Chinese one km into Indian territory extended up to 10-12 km in a forested area in their own territory.
