New Delhi: A proposed multi-speciality hospital overlooking a military camp near the Indo-Bangladesh border at Jorhat in Assam has become a flashpoint in the Supreme Court after the Army objected to its construction, expressing apprehension of "drone movement" and the possibility of the use of "long-range sniper rifles".

The Army said if at all the hospital is allowed to be built, it should have over 15-ft concrete boundary wall with separators and no window of the structure should face the Army camp.

A bench of justices Dipankar Datta and Satish Chandra Sharma, which heard the Army officials along with ASG Vikramjit Banerjee appearing for the Centre, observed it needs to strike a balance.
