Army chief Gen Dhiraj Seth's visit underscores enduring bonds of friendship, trust between India, Russia: Indian Army

New Delhi: Army Chief Gen Dhiraj Seth's visit to Russia from September 16-18 underscored the "enduring bonds" of friendship, trust and military diplomacy between the two countries, while reinforcing their commitment towards deeper defence cooperation, the Indian Army said on Monday.

During the visit, the Chief of the Army Staff engaged with senior Russian military leadership, including the Deputy Minister of Defence and visited key military institutions.

"#GeneralDhirajSeth, #COAS, concluded his official visit to Russia from 16-18 September 2026, aimed at further strengthening the enduring defence partnership and Army-to-Army cooperation between the two nations," the Army posted on X.


Gen Seth's engagements with the military leadership in Russia provided valuable insights into professional military education and training methodologies, while facilitating the exchange of operational experiences and perspectives on contemporary military developments, it said.

"The visit underscored the enduring bonds of friendship, trust and military diplomacy between India and Russia, while reinforcing the commitment of both nations towards deeper defence cooperation and continued exchange of expertise," the Army said.
