A well planned and coordinated operation led to apprehension of seven youth in Namtola while the group was on its way to the ULFA training camps across Myanmar border.
Army along with Assam police busted a recruitment module of ULFA (Independent) militant outfit.

Based on specific input of recruitment being carried out by ULFA in Assam, Joypur Battalion of Red Shield Division of Spear Corps along with Sonari Police busted a recruitment module. A well planned and coordinated operation led to apprehension of seven youth in Namtola while the group was on its way to the ULFA training camps across Myanmar border.

Army stated, “The group included a cadre who had earlier surrendered in 2016 and one who had already tried to join the banned outfit couple of years back. During the operation, a Pistol with ammunition was also recovered. All the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Police and they have confessed to having been recruited by handlers of ULFA-I."


Army added that the operation breaks the myth of the Unilateral ceasefire announced by ULFA.
