Armenia 'intensively shelling' populated areas ahead of ceasefire: Azerbaijan

Baku: Armenian forces were heavily shelling civilian areas of Azerbaijan on Saturday ahead of a ceasefire agreed to end fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh, the Azerbaijani defence ministry said.

"Armenian armed forces are intensively shelling populated areas in Geranboy, Terter, Agdam, Agjaberdi, and Fizuli districts. Azerbaijan is taking reciprocal measures," the ministry said in a statement.
