Adani ties up with two companies for unmanned aircraft systems

MUMBAI: Adani Group' Wednesday said its aerospace and defence unit has tied up with Israel's Elbit-ISTAR and Bangalore's Alpha Design Technologies to make unmanned aircraft systems.

"The companies plan to create a tiered vendor base, for supporting indigenization and localization requirements and seeks to setup a final assembly and integration line including MRO facilities, by incorporating true transfer of technology for supporting the product range, during its lifecycle," Adani said in a release.

Adani Aero Defence Systems & Technologies is a fully owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd., with interest in design, technology development, technical collaboration, system integration services for aerospace and deence equipment and systems.

Elbit Systems operates in the field of naval systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance, unmanned aircraft systems among others.

Alpha Design Technologies specialisation includes design, development and production of defence electronics and avionics equipment & systems, airframes, upgradation of cockpits, opto-electronics, software, indigenization and obsolescence management in defence systems.
