India is one of the world's fastest growing civil aviation markets and the country's commercial aircraft fleet is projected to triple to 2,250 over the next decade.

The country is also expected to become a hub for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) activities.

Once that MRO is set up, a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the engines can also be looked at, he said.

He was speaking at the Aviation India and South Asia 2026 conference in the national capital.
