New Delhi: The armed forces achieved a very high accuracy rate of 94% during Operation Sindoor to pinpoint and attack Pakistani positions and terror infrastructure by using historical data that was refined by using Artificial Intelligence (AI), a senior Army officer said on Monday.

In an interaction, Lt General Rajiv Kumar Sahni, who was Director General Information Systems during Op Sindoor said that the forces used data from various sensors, weapons and other sources to paint an accurate picture of enemy positions that was refined by using AI.

The officer said that a home-grown application for Electronic Intelligence Collation, used by all intelligence agencies, was modified in record time during Operation Sindoor to meet the customised requirements of various stakeholders, helping in locating adversary sensors.


The officer added that precision targeting was also achieved with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled Meteorological Reporting Systems that helped long range vectors. The forces have 26 years of data available that is being used with AI assistance.
