‘Various training camps of terrorists are also under scrutiny of our intelligence wing’
Srinagar: BSF Inspector General (Kashmir Frontier) Ashok Yadav on Monday said there are around 69 active launchpads across the Line of Control where about 100-120 infiltrators are ready to cross the border.

The officer said the infiltrators are using new routes to cross the border, but the alert forces have further strengthened the counter infiltration grid to scuttle any possible breach. He stated that Operation Sindoor continues and the forces are ready to counter any challenge along the border as well as in the hinterland. "Our intelligence unit is keeping a close watch on all the 69 active launch pads along the LoC, where around 100-120 terrorists have been waiting to infiltrate. Simultaneously, various training camps of terrorists are also under scrutiny of our intelligence wing," said Yadav, adding, "Many of these camps are beyond the range, while they have relocated some camps that were in vulnerable areas." The BSF IG informed that eight infiltrators were killed in four infiltration attempts made this year.

"We have to focus on new aspects of modern warfare, and get equipped and trained accordingly. We have to make sure to inflict maximum damage to the enemy using minimum resources. We are aggressively working in this direction," said Yadav.

He further said "despite facing numerous challenges of harsh weather, underdeveloped and inhospitable mountainous terrain, difficult living conditions and constant threats of BAT action, sniping, ceasefire violations and Fidayeen attacks", BSF personnel stand fearlessly to secure LoC. "We are seeing constant movement along LoC from the other side and drones keep doing reconnaissance from their side. It seems there would be some more infiltration attempts before the snow completely covers the mountains," he said.

BSF is training its personnel to deal with cyber threats while the BSF Para jumping course, which started recently, is aimed at training officers and men for carrying out special operations in mountainous and jungle terrains.
