SRINAGAR: Six people have been detained from Jammu & Kashmir's Pulwama and Kulgam districts for allegedly helping captured Pakistani terrorist, Naved.

Sources identified three of the six detainees as Javaid Wani, his brother, Fayaz Wani, and Javaid Ahmed Parray. The identity of the rest of the suspects was not immediately known.

The six are likely to be paraded before the terrorist, who was brought to Srinagar on Saturday and shifted to the Special Operation Group's office at Rajbagh.

Sources said a GPS device recovered from Naved revealed he had stayed at the house of the Wanis along with his accomplices.

"And thereafter Naved and Noman, who killed after the two attacked a BSF convoy in Udhampur on Wednesday, stayed at Khodwani village in South Kashmir. From there Parray drove them to Udhampur in his truck."

But Parray's wife denied he had sheltered the terrorists and driven them to Udhampur.

Shaban Wani, the father of the two brothers, pleaded innocence of his sons and maintained they were not linked to any militant group.

"I fail to understand why they have been arrested," he said. He added his sons were picked up following an overnight raid.

A police officer said the suspects were first taken to their respective police stations, where their video and photography was done.

He said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigators, who brought Naved to Srinagar, are looking to establish the route he used to reach Udhampur along with his slain accomplice.

The officer added the NIA investigators would identify the accomplices, who facilitated his passage to Udhampur.

Another police officer said it was currently difficult to know whether the detainees were involved in the attack.

He said Naved would be taken to all the places, where he had stayed after infiltrating from Pakistan around a month back.

"We are sure that in a day or two, NIA would be able to trace the other accused in the attack."
